The Knowledge Graph Behind Phyra
Our structured knowledge graph maps how medicinal plants work — what compounds they contain, and what conditions they may help address — backed by evidence. From traditional use to scientific research, every connection is documented, attributed, and graded.

Why this exists
Traditional plant knowledge is disappearing faster than it is being studied. Oral traditions are eroding. Clinical research is accumulating but fragmented, inaccessible, and rarely mapped to what communities already know.
Phyra is the system built for that moment. A knowledge product built for communities that have always known what science is still measuring. Not a Wikipedia summary. Not a wellness blog.
Every plant profile is a structured intelligence report — evidence graded, locally named, and cross-referenced against peer-reviewed literature and ethnobotanical tradition.
The Knowledge Card
How it works
Enter a common name, local name, or Latin binomial — or point your camera at any plant. Phyra identifies it and returns its full knowledge profile instantly.
For new plants, a dual-model research system queries peer-reviewed literature, ethnobotanical records, and pharmacological databases to build a structured knowledge profile.
Every medicinal claim is graded A through D by evidence strength — from clinical trial to ethnobotanical record — before any profile is published.
Dual-model validation plus human review against source citations. The NatureLab Verified badge is assigned only when both stages pass. The badge is earned, not generated.
Intelligence Architecture
Very few medicinal plant platforms globally expose all six layers together. Phyra does.
Evidence Grading System
Not every claim carries the same weight. Phyra grades evidence transparently so you can distinguish between what is known, what is promising, and what remains uncertain.
RCTs or systematic reviews in peer-reviewed journals. Highest standard of proof.
Human observational studies, animal studies, or documented in vivo pharmacological mechanisms.
Cell-based or biochemical studies. Promising but not yet validated in living systems.
Traditional use documented across African communities. Valuable knowledge, transparently labelled.
Not enough data to determine efficacy. Phyra displays uncertainty, not assumption.
Our Principles
African medicinal knowledge should be documented, attributed, and responsibly commercialised — with provenance intact at every layer of access.

NatureLab Verified is not a label. It is the output of a three-stage validation process — applied to every medicinal claim before it is published on Phyra.
Two research systems independently query peer-reviewed literature and ethnobotanical databases. Each drafts the plant profile. Each independently critiques the other's output. Confidence is scored before any claim proceeds.
Every claim is evidence-graded A through D by evidence strength — from clinical trial to traditional record. Traceable evidence basis. No claim without source.
Final output verified by human review against actual source citations before the NatureLab Verified badge is assigned. The badge is applied, not generated.
NatureLab Verified badge is only assigned when all three stages pass. Two models must agree. Citations must resolve. Human reviewer must clear. Only then does the badge appear on a plant profile.
